This week has been an ok week so far. Compared to last week, which was crazy, this week is going great. Last week I had three papers to write for my classes and two quiz's. So this week my work load seems light. Although I do I have carnicus practice every night, and last night we had it from 6-11. It was soooo loonnggg. But after this weekend it will be over. Our theme is Shrek and it's super cute. My parents are even coming up to see it! I play one of the Village People, which I did not know where GAY until this week. So that will be interesting.

Carnicus if Friday night and then I will be free. Soooo... Saturday night a guy from my hometown who has a CD out and its a-mazing, is coming to New Amsterdam. I'm sure everyone has seen the signs that say I HATE CADENCE. Well that's him and he's really really good and I can't wait to go and see him! I don't know if this is true but someone told me that he had someone put those signs everywhere for him to do a little reverse psychology. When people heard he was coming they would think, I HATE CADENCE, and come to see what he was all about!!!Strange I know, but I can see him doing something like that because that's just how he is!

So if anyone wants to see a good show Saturday night come see Cadence at New Amsterdam!!!!!

What can I say but I am so glad that this week is almost over! I had so many things going on and now all I have to worry about it Spring
Break, and a math test next week but thats it!!! I had a huge bio exam this week and I got a 93 on it (which is the highest grade I have ever made on a bio test this year). So... needless to say I am looking very forward to this weekend.

My sorority is having a Kentucky Derby date party, and I get to wear a really big hat! I even went out and bought flowers to put on my hat to make it extra big!

It might just be me but I feel like these last couple of weeks have been crazy and I feel like all I have done is homework! I've been trying so hard to make good grades on my tests and things that I haven't done anything else in a long time. Which is even more of a reason to be excited about spring break!

Me and some of my friends are going to Panama City like everybody else, and we have more people staying in our room than there are beds which is going to make things intertesting!! I'm not a big partier at all but it will just be nice to be on the beach and layout!!! I'm also leaving from the beach a couple days early to go home. That way I get the best of both worlds on my spring break, the beach and my family!

But I still have a week left of school left that I need to concentrate on so I should go!!!

Mar. 2nd, 2006 02:32 pm My birthday is Saturday!!!

This Saturday is my 19th birthday! Yeah I know 19 is like the most random birthday, but it's only one year away from not being in the "teens." This is also the first year that I haven't been with my family on my real birthday. It's kinda sad to me, but I will still be able to celebrate with my friends and boyfriend! And it's my first birthday to spend in Knoxville, a monumental occasion for sure! Plus birthday's mean gifts!!!! But you know you really don't need any things for you birthday when you can't even wish for anything for your friends to get you! But I'm sure they will come up with something great!!

I was always jealous of my best friend growing up, because her birthday was in August right before we started school. So she would have these huge parties every year and kids would always give her money. So she would have all this money to go back to school shopping with and all I had was what little I saved up over the summer. But one good thing about having a birthday in March is I get money for cute spring break cloths, which can then be worn this summer! So I always like to remind her that I get to go spring break shopping and spend my money like she does with me and back to school shopping money!!!! Shallow I know, the things girls say...

Nevertheless this weekend is going to be so much fun, even if I don't have my family here to share it with me! My boyfriends has all kinds of stuff planned and Boxing tournament is going on, what more could a girl want?

Wow this weekend was crazy! Friday and Saturday were the All Sing performances at AMB. For those of you who don't know all sing is something many sorority and fraternities participate in where they sing and dance according to what theme they picked. I'm an AOPI and we were paired with KD and our theme was Cats, the broadway musical. We have been practicing 2-3 hours a night for the last month and a half rehearsing the routine. As you can imagine this is kinda a big deal, so my mom and dad came in this weekend to see it.

Because our theme was cats we had to wear leotards, boo, covering our faces completely with cat make-up. The Friday night performance wasn't our best but we did well. My parents came in late Friday night and Saturday morning drove me over to the panhellinic building 3 hours before the show started to get my make-up on.

Saturday, once we were all in costume we ran through the show a couple of times and then headed over the AMB. We were performing third to last and we did a great job. We ended up placing third overall and I couldn't have been more excited for us! And to top it off I was so glad that my parents were able to see the show. My mom was a KD and did all sing when she was in college so she loved seeing me do it with her sorority.

Needless to say while I did enjoy practicing and hanging out with everyone every night, I am so glad to have my nights back to myself! So tonight I am going to actually be able to get my homework done before 10 and maybe even get in bed before midnight!!!

Feb. 14th, 2006 03:44 pm Valentines Day!

Today is Valentines Day and I'm so excited. This is only the second time that I've had a valentine on Valentines day. While I know this is a hated holiday by many, I think it can be fun even if you don't have a "Valentine." Up until last year me and my friends would go out together, just hang out, and keep each other company because no of us ever had valentines. But we always liked the holiday anyways because you never knew who might decide to they want to try and surprise you with flowers or candy.

Like I said, last year was my first Valentines day to spend with someone I really cared about. It was my boyfriend Patrick and he went all out! I came home to heart balloons all over my room and signs hanging everywhere. We went out to dinner and got each other presents! It was such a fun night and it just happened to be our 6th month anniversary. Needless to say we went all out for each other!

But not this year. Now that we are in college and are having to spend our OWN money all the time, things are quite different. I'm still just as excited to spend time with him today but things just won't be quite like they were last year. But really that's not what this holiday is about to me. While it may be made up by the card and candy companies, I think Valentines day is a day to tell someone you care about how much they mean to you. That doesn't necessarily mean to someone you are dating it can be a friend or just someone in general that you care about!

So even if you don't have a "valentine" don't automatically write this day off as one that sucks. Try to make someone else's day better by telling them how much they mean to you! And who knows someone may return the favor to you!

Feb. 6th, 2006 09:01 am This week is going to be crazy!!

This week is going to be one of those weeks that I won't leave the library or my dorm room. I have so many tests these next couple of days that it's crazy, it's like the teachers some of my classes decide to have tests at the same time. Needless to say, they are all tests that I desperately need to study for. In my attempts to get off to a good start and being that these are the first test in most of these classes I need to do well on them. Soooo... I am going to try my hardest to study as much as I can so I'll feel like I did the best I could possible do.

However when this week is over I plan on doing nothing this weekend!

So im totally loving the Mentally Incontinent book! My favorite show EVER is America's Funniest Home Video's, I could watch that show all day long and never get tired of seeing people caught off gaurd and just doing funny things. Which is why I think I like this book so much, I get to read about crazy and funny things that happend to Joe.

While it is hard to think that this much stuff can happend to one person it's still funny to read. In some of his stories he uses alot of discription which makes me think that some of the detial might have been added in for a better story!!! But all in all I like reading this book!

Jan. 29th, 2006 10:59 pm My weekend

This weekend was one of those weekends where the time just flies by, and you wonder if you even got anything done and where all your free time went. I went home on Saturday to hang out with the fam because Im not going to be able to go home for a while. There were so many things I needed to do when I got home that my whole afternoon was gone it seemed in a couple of hours. Franklin is so big and has so much traffic especially on a Saturday so it takes time to drive from place to place. Then today because I live three hours away it seemed like I was in the car half the day.

But all in all I had a great weekend. I hung out with my dad mostly and one of my sorority sister came home with me. Needless to say im pretty sure I ended up getting everything done I needed to. Hopefully next time I go home it will be a little more relaxing and I can eat a home cooked meal. But now im ready to start another week of school.

Jan. 25th, 2006 12:57 pm Enjoy life!

Do you ever find yourself wishing the days away? Lately when I have a bad day I seem to do that, and all I can think about is the weekend or spring break. Yesterday was quite a rough day. Tuesdays and Thursdays in general have been bad days for me this semester. I have classes back to back to back. I feel like I spend the whole day running from one side of the campus to the other. And not to mention that these are all my boring classes on the same day, so I'm peeling my eyes open in every class trying to stay awake.

But when I sit back and look at my day they never seem to be quite as bad as I make them out to be, and I just think in a couple of months I won't even remember today. So when I catch myself wishing days away I do everything I can to then try and make the best of what time I have left in the day.

And to this day I will never forget something that happened when I was in middle school. I was in 6th grade and there was a student who was also in my grade who became very sick within the first month of school, his name was Josh. I always knew who he was but never actually talked to him. In April of that same year Josh passes away. Those who were close to him went to his funeral, and those of us who weren't that close to him attended the memorial service at school. On the back of the funeral program was a letter Josh wrote to his family and friends. At the end of his letter he wrote, " No matter what you do in life never wish a day away, you never know when it may be your last."

Therefore, whenever I have days like yesterday and have bad classes, get in fights with my boyfriend, and just wish the day was over, I always think about that boy in my 6th grade class. And it reminds me that I need to enjoy every minute of life I have here on earth!

Jan. 22nd, 2006 03:04 pm What an amazing game!

Well I'm sure most of you have already heard by now, but the basketball game last night was amazing! At first I was nto sure i wanted to go and then my parents got tickets. So i went becuase they were going and sat in the student section and it was so much fun!!! My parents had never been to a UT basketball game before, and they picked a really exciting one to come and see.

I could not believe how many people came to the game. I was at the gates and hour and a half before game time and there was a huge mob of people trying to get in. I just knew that i was not goin to get to see the game. But with thirty minuets to spare i had a seat eight rows from the very very top.

Needless to say i was not about to run down on the floor being that high up in the air. Although some how my boyfriend got to be one of the guys who sat down on the very front row and was painted in all while, he was the "O" in Tennessee Vols. So he was right in the middle of the court when we won!

Now this may seem kind of mean but... Becuase our football team was not at it's best this year everyone is looking to support one of our sports teams that is doing well. Which is why the attendance has been three and four times the number they had last year for basketball games. As a result, I am now going to try my hardest to go to all of our basketball games, because i would never want to miss a game like last nights!
